Eastside x Breadroot
Cooperation means working together. Eastside Food Co-op and Breadroot Natural Foods Co-op teamed up to create a merch line in support of yet another co-op, Twin Pines Cooperative Foundation.
What do Rapid City, SD and Minneapolis, MN have in common? Besides being home to your favorite midwestern co-ops, each is guided by the same 7 cooperative principles that help define businesses like ours. But the likenesses don’t stop there. As midwestern states, both South Dakota and Minnesota are among the largest agricultural states in the country. As such, we decided to partner up during Co-op Month to create a Principle 6 (cooperation among co-ops) product collection in support of yet another co-op; Twin Pines Community Fund. Twin Pines only invests in the development of cooperatives- that means no stock market investments. The interest earned in this fund goes back to the local co-ops to support their local non-profits.
We might be 600 miles apart, but sharing the same cooperative principles brings us closer together.
